Congregation

English Congregation

Each week, the English congregational leadership ministers to more than 500 adults, youth and children. There are three worship services: 8.30am and 10.30am services on Sunday, and a 3.30pm Youth Service on Saturday. A children’s programme runs concurrently with the 10.30am worship service on Sunday. Holy Communion is administered to all baptised believers every week.

“Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding?’ (Job 12:12)

The Golden Years Fellowship is devoted to those enjoying their retiree years.  We meet weekly to deepen our walk with God and enjoy one another’s company. Typically, we study the Bible, pray for each other, sing and lunch together. We also warmly welcome pre-believing friends to join our meetings.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” (Ephesians 2:10)

Our Cell Group Ministry aims to provide a small group setting for a closer fellowship and ministry. During the cell group meetings, members grow closer to God through worship and bible study, and grow closer towards one another in fellowship. There are also opportunities to serve one another with our spiritual gifts.

We currently have 16 cell groups which meet at various times and places.

“Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” (1 Peter 4:10)

Hospitality is a fundamental expression of the Gospel of Jesus Christ and what it means to be members of one body.

The Hospitality Team seeks to bless church members through planning, cooking and serving food during special church-wide events like Good Friday, Easter Sunday, Church Anniversary, Christmas Day, Watch Night Service, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Family Days and Kids’ Vacation Bible Camps; and also on Sundays after the services, creating opportunities for members to have a fellowship meal together.

Each member brings with him and her different strengths and skills that allow the team to serve others joyfully and effectively, for God’s glory.

If you love to cook, have a knack for creating, planning or serving wonderful meals, or just enjoy blessing others with good food and great company, check out how you can be a part of the Hospitality Team.

“He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear and put their trust in the Lord.” (Psalm 40:3)

Worship is the highest honour we can give to God and is an expression of our love for Him.  Therefore, music is at the heart of worship at BPMC.

This ministry comprises worship leaders, musicians, singers and dancers who are committed to use their gifts to help believers to worship God in Spirit and in Truth, and to reach the unreached.

Here’s a preview of the songs that we sing.

Join us if you think you have a gift in music or the creative arts!

Mandarin Congregation

The Mandarin Congregation in Bethesda Pasir Ris Mission church started from a small bible study fellowship in 1979. Initiated by a few members from the English Congregation, the Mandarin fellowship was formed with the aim to bring the gospel to their Chinese educated parents and family members. The first worship service began on 28 February 1988, led by Pastor Chan Kum Wah and his co-workers. Today, the congregation has a regular attendance of about 150 people, including youth and children.

The Sunday worship service is held in Hall 3 from 9.00 am to 10.30am. After a short tea break at the Fellowship hall, members attend the Adult Sunday School from 11.00am to 12.15pm. A variety of classes are available to cater to the different needs of our members. In addition to the Sunday service, we have a weekly Prayer Meeting on Wednesdays from 8.00pm to 9.30pm.

To better tend to the needs of our members, we have organized our members by age into three fellowship groups – the Senior Citizen Fellowship, Adult Fellowship, and Youth Fellowship. Every member of the congregation is also assigned into a Care group to provide better support and a praying network for each member.

To find out more information about The Mandarin Congregation and the activity times, please browse through our web pages under “中文堂” , or contact Pastor Au Boon Pin at 6584 2428.

We pray that brothers and sisters will encourage their Mandarin speaking family members or friends to attend our Mandarin Service. You may also send your children to our Mandarin Sunday School so that they can have more opportunity to listen to Chinese through songs and bible stories.

We are committed to achieving Vision 2014 that focuses on leadership succession and discipleship. To this end, we aim to develop and train our present leaders, so that they may disciple their family members and others in obedience to our Lord Jesus’ Great Commission and His commandments.

If you are new in Singapore and considering joining us for praise and worship to our God, we hope you will find a place where you are warmly welcomed and feel at home away from home, even if you have never been to a Christian Fellowship before.

Our Worship Service is held on Sunday at 1.30pm, mainly in English, and when giving emphasis, in Tagalog. We welcome an average of 120 adults, youths, and children weekly into our midst.

In our Bible studies, we present the truths of the Bible in clear and easy methods.

We are committed to:

The Filipino Youth Ministry aims to equip our youths in five core areas:

DISCIPLESHIP by walking in Truth through prayer & obedience to God’s Word
WORSHIP
by putting Christ in the centre of their lives
MINISTRY
by offering themselves in the service of Christ
FELLOWSHIP
by lovingly caring for His church
EVANGELISM
by living as shining examples so as to attract and lead others to Christ

To guide the youths in fulfilling God’s purposes for their lives, we provide various channels for them to grow in their faith:

  1. Sunday School – where they learn and meditate on God’s Word and are encouraged to apply it to their lives.

Every Sunday, 4:30pm – 5:30pm, BPMC Community Hall, 3rd Level

  1. Youth Prayer Meetings – where the youths meet in the home of a host-youth for worship, devotion and prayer for church needs and for one another.

Every other Saturday

  1. Youth Café – is an evangelistic event that the youths organise (on a scheduled basis) where young people gather and relax in a “chill-out” environment. The youths invite their friends to sing with them, and just bond and chat with them to build relationships, and to lead them to know God through the love of Christ.

  1. Other Ministry opportunities which involve the youths include:
  • Worship & Music Ministry

Musicians, Tambourine Dancers, Singers, Ushers

  • Events Planning & Facilitation

Eg Sports Events, Papuri Café, Birthday Parties

Children Ministry

Children look forward to Sunday School because they can be with their friends as they learn God’s Word together.  Sunday School time is filled with activities that suit their needs, interests and age.

We aim to bring up the children in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ through teachers who have the passions and skills in teaching the young. Through this, we pray that these children will grow to become adults who can stand for the Lord.

The Correspondence Course

The Correspondence Course is a study of the Bible at different levels via correspondence. Bible Study materials and questions are sent to persons who enroll on the course. They, in turn, send their answer sheets back for checking and grading.  When they finish a certain level, they will be given a certificate. It is open to youth and adults who want a structured programme for Christian growth, Christian life and Christian service.
